Temu has entered into an agreement with Retur, Denmark's largest family of producer responsibility organizations, to manage compliance for sellers on the platform across more than six Danish waste streams.
Under the agreement, Retur will manage producer responsibility on behalf of sellers on the Temu platform across more than six waste streams: electrical and electronic equipment, packaging, batteries, fishing gear, single-use plastics and, over time, textiles.
Temu will register sellers, collect product and packaging data, and ensure payment of applicable fees, ensuring that international sellers on the platform meet the same requirements as domestic companies already operating under Danish producer responsibility rules.
Retur will execute compliance across multiple product categories and waste streams through its subsidiary PROs Elretur, Emballageretur, Batteriretur, Fiskeriretur and Tekstilretur.
Besides Retur, Temu has also entered into agreements with PROs in other EU countries.
