After a prolonged search, Ameripen has named Lynn Dyer its new executive director. The trade association was previously led by Dan Felton, who left the role last November to become CEO of the Flexible Packaging Association.

Dyer most recently served as chief sustainability officer at Pactiv Evergreen. Prior to that, she was president of the Foodservice Packaging Institute, another trade group where she was employed for more than 20 years until leaving in 2019. Dyer has also previously served on Ameripen’s board of directors.
Ameripen, or the American Institute for Packaging and the Environment, focuses on policy across the packaging value chain.
“Her proven ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and unite diverse stakeholders positions her to lead AMERIPEN through one of the most consequential periods for packaging policy in U.S. history,” the organization said in its announcement Tuesday.
Ameripen announced that Dyer will be “formally introduced” to members at its annual summit from June 10-12 in Alexandria, Virginia.
“I’m honored to join AMERIPEN and continue advancing science-based, actionable packaging policy,” Dyer said in a statement. “This association plays a critical role in shaping fair, effective legislation, and I look forward to further collaborating with our members to strengthen our collective voice.”
