TriMas announced Thursday it hired Paul Swart to take over as chief financial officer come Dec. 15.
Swart will join the company from vehicle accessories manufacturer RealTruck, but he’s not entirely new to TriMas. Swart previously had a 20-year tenure at TriMas, ending as chief accounting officer in 2023 before becoming RealTruck’s chief accounting officer.

Swart will succeed interim CFO Teresa Finley, who remains a board member. Finley was named interim CFO in March after Scott Mell, TriMas' CFO since 2021, left the company to become CFO of Allison Transmission.
Swart rejoins the Michigan-based company in the midst of a major transaction. TriMas announced in November it would divest its aerospace division in a $1.45 billion all-cash deal to investment firm Tinicum. TriMas projected the deal would close in Q1, after which the company would be left with its packaging business and smaller specialty products segment.
TriMas’ packaging segment primarily serves customers in beauty and personal care, food and beverage, home care, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and medical submarkets, as well as industrial markets. In 2024, TriMas’ net sales totaled $925 million, with packaging accounting for $512.3 million.
TriMas also appointed a new CEO this year, bringing in Thomas Snyder, the former president of Silgan Containers’ metal packaging business. When announcing the aerospace sale, Snyder said TriMas will become “a more focused, high-margin packaging platform.”
